Kayrin's Senior Session
Kayrin is getting ready for this Saturday's prom for the students at L&N STEM Academy, and graduation later on. But back in October, we had a grand time doing her senior pictures. They show a young woman of poise, beauty, and originality!
Portraits From the Past
Bleak House in Knoxville featured a history weekend that gave me the opportunity to capture some environmental portraits of the actors in period dress. Come back to 1864 in this blog post.
Mother and Child Study
A recent study with Logan and her sweet boy, Joseph. The goal was to capture a mother nursing her child in a classic and romantic way. What could be a more intimate moment between a mother and her baby than when she is nourishing him?
Portrait of a Bishop . . . and Friend
I am honored to have my work in the new Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Knoxville. Maybe it's just a photograph but it was important to me that I capture a friend's spirit in his portrait.
Stay Out of Trouble
Catching up in studio with my friend, model and actor Kwame Rock. Always a delight and hey - stay out of trouble. Good to see Kwame back.
Baby Mason
A warmer, sunny afternoon in Winter was the perfect time to photograph Mason - and at 9 months old, he was the perfect age for baby pictures. Come and see the latest GQ model in his shoot!
Winter is a Time for Studio Work
Winter doesn't mean it is time to stop shooting - it just means it is time to head indoors and work in studio. Never stop practicing, never stop learning!
New Year's Eve at Candoro Marble
The new year came swinging in at Candoro Marble Arts and Heritage Center with a 1920's speakeasy. Casino games, hot food, drinks and dancing kept the place jumping! Here are some of the rogue's gallery I captured of the guests, all of whom received a souvenir picture to remember the night.
People of Note: Tim Childers
My friend, Tim, took away more than images from his head shot session. Read more to hear what he had to say and a lesson for everyone.
Miss Riley
A "regular" client, Miss Riley, got in front of my camera for a session. It is important to have images made of your children when they are very young since the changes in their life are rapid. Speaking of fast things, so are toddlers - but, challenge accepted! Nothing like getting down to their level for fun and play!
Believe in Print: Carol's Pinup Folio
Carol's folio arrived from Italy and it's gorgeous! Printing your images is not important - it's vital! And when you can do so to create a product that is unique to you, it's magic. Read more about how her session resulted in a personalized work.
Confidence Breeds Beauty: Carol's Pinup Session
Don't tell me you're too old. Don't tell me you need to lose weight. Tell me you want to have fun and be confident in your own beauty. Carol took that smile and her love of vintage clothes, and let her light shine in a pinup session - check it out!
Introducing Image Folios from Graphistudio
Some images are exceptional and deserve their own collection and customized storage. I am very pleased to offer this gorgeous import from Italy's Graphistudio, their image folios. If you are looking for an extraordinary way of displaying your images, consider this!
Made a Difference for This One
I was happy to oblige when my friend, noted photographer Jill Geisler, called me to ask if I could take some pictures of an adoption. I got to meet the Burket family and attend a joyous occasion. Who doesn't love seeing a new addition to the family?
Why I Include Engagement Sessions With My Wedding Packages
Bekah and Shea's engagement session took place in a location that is very special to them - the fabulous Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina!. I always include an engagement session with my wedding packages - read here to find out why!
For the Love of Our Pets
Do all dogs go to Heaven? I think so - and this blog post gives my Scripture-based reasoning as to why I do. It is hard when we have to say goodbye to our pets and portraits of them help us to remember the joy they brought to our lives.
People of Note: Jody Butler.
Meet Jody Butler, LCSW of Cove Mountain Counseling. As part of my ongoing series of highlighting my headshot clients, I want you to learn about this healer in Maryville who offers counseling to those with addictions and PTSD, as well as a unique way of overcoming those obstacles we place in our way!
People of Note: Jenny Keller, Author
Here is an installment in my new series, Person of Note, that highlights the people whom I photograph for their headshots. Meet Jenny Keller, an up-and-coming write of Christian fiction whose book is set in one of the most beautiful spots in the world - the Great Smoky Mountains!
Reuse. Recycle. Redeem.
In designing Sierra's shoot, I knew there was a look I wanted, but did not have the right accessory. I found it at one of the Knox Area Rescue Mission's thrift stores, allowing me to reuse, recycle, and most importantly, help someone to redeem their life. Maybe that is why Sierra looks exceptionally lovely in these portraits.
A Bugs Bunny Moment With the Petrees
No, it's not a "What's up, doc?" instance but a flashback to a classic Bugs episode - and these folks are just as classic! Meet Tim and Lisa Petree of Be Savvy Media in Knoxville. I like to introduce the other professionals with whom I work on headshots and business portraits through my blog.
