Regal: Julia’s Equestrian Portrait
Young Julia rides - and jumps, too, when in command of her mount. You have to admire a slip of a girl who can take the reins of a horse and take it through its paces. A portrait of her, then, should show her confidence and, as it is English style riding, a sense of a regal bearing.
And Julia succeeded nicely in her session - which is not surprising, given the medals and awards she is accumulating. As I said to her in my studio, I made her promise to return in ten years time when she is representing the United States at a summer Olympics!
