Come Home to the Smokies: Megan and Craig's Family
The Great Smoky Mountains is just a great place for families to visit. A lot of folks came to our mountains this past autumn as a COVID-safe destination: rent a cabin for your immediate family and explore over 500,000 square acres of wilderness. And all within a day’s drive of many states east of the Mississippi River.
For a lot of families, it is also a good time to seize the opportunity to get a family photo session done. After all, the kids won’t be kids forever and when will you all be together like this? Add a gorgeous mountain setting and … “okay, everyone, smile!”
Megan was visiting the Smokies with her husband, Craig, their children, and Craig’s parents, and did just that. I was pleased to make their acquaintance and capture their hearts. Megan’s specific need was simple: mountains! She wanted a backdrop that could not be found at her home. That presented me with a bit of a challenge: the timing was such that I knew there would be a LOT of fellow visitors and also knew I would need some room to accommodate the group, while also looking for some variety. It is more than a group shot - it’s kids, and cousins, and couples, and individuals being photographed. The good news is that I know my Smokies and we went to a section of Cades Cove where I knew ways we could avoid the traffic on its loop road. Sure, maybe we had to climb over/under some barbed wire fences, but that’s all part of the fun!
Watch this short video and ask yourself if this is something you want for your family.
And part of my fun is being able to make the acquaintance of such lovely people while showing off to them the beauty and heritage of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Come home to the Smokies - here, we are all family, sharing in this American treasure!
