Black and White Study for Kids

I revisited some images I had taken back in early May, where my friend, Robyn, graciously "volunteered" her son, Cooper, to come by my studio and do some portraits, specifically for black and white.

I like kids to be comfortable and sometimes that means just letting them BE them.  Which means, Mom, you are not always going to have sweet smiles, and especially when you have a boy on the cusp between being "little" and transitioning to being a teen.

I like photographing kids like this, with a more serious attitude.  After all, they take themselves very seriously, so shouldn't we?

I have some more kids lined up to do more of these.

And yeah, yeah, I know - he is wearing two different teams.  All I had was a New York Yankees jersey to scuff up.  SO sue me.
