DTLV: Street Photography Along Fremont Street

A young man gets a lesson in interpretative dance.

If you know my background then you know what sparked the love of photography in me is street photography. And it is a shame, but I don’t get a chance to do as much of it as I did, something that I need to correct. I was in las Vegas in October 2021 and no trip to that city is complete for me unless I go see the freak show that is Fremont Street. And yes, I know, I am not supposed to take pictures in a casino but then, I have always had a small problem with rules.

Mask and sanitizer at hand, social distancing.

All you need is a dollar and a dream . . .

Come on, baby needs a new pair of shoes.

Somewhere there is a lucky guy.

“EER IN VEGAS”

You can hear that music, can’t you?

As with the cartoon characters in Times Square in New York City, fake showgirls roam the streets of Las Vegas and expect money to have your picture taken with them. I am sympathetic to them except if I feel they are taking advantage of language and cultural differences to engage in a little shake down.

Do androids dream of electric sheep? I think Vegas is its own virtual reality.

The glamor of Las Vegas.
