"Rings of Gold" - Megan and Andy's Wedding in Ringgold

According to Dolly Parton, when she married her husband, Carl Dean, back in 1966, they eloped to Ringgold, Georgia because it was a place known to Dean and, “I also liked the idea of 'rings of gold' -- Ringgold. I thought that sounded like a good sign.”

For Megan and Andy, though, it also meant family. The Ringgold Wedding Chapel, located in historic downtown Ringgold, was a Methodist church at one time and was the place where Megan’s grandparents married. The area is home to her family’s history so it was fitting that their wedding would take place in such a charming town.

But what to do in these times of the coronavirus? When they planned their wedding, it was unsure how many people could attend, so they opted to keep the number down - and Zoom it!

And not only did they Zoom the ceremony in the wedding chapel, but Megan and Andy also did their first dance and the parent dances there, so the family and friends on the Zoom call could see that as well.

I admire and applaud such spirit! Sometimes, circumstances call for something to be done differently and these two took charge, not letting their day go by without beauty and grace and faith. To that end, a small ceremony, a historic chapel, and modern technology came together to make Megan and Andy’s wedding something wonderful!

Megan and Andy took advantage of my Petite Wedding collection, perfect for elopements, courthouse weddings, and other intimate affairs. Remember, just because a wedding is small does not mean it is not any less important! Are you planning one? Give me a call!
