Every Marriage Proposal Deserves a Paparazzo!

I read with interest an article about Vlad Leto, a photographer who does "paparazzi-style" shoots - pre-arranged, of course - of marriage proposals in New York City.  Using a long-zoom lens, he blends in with the crowd, ready to capture that moment when the big question is asked:  "Will you marry me?"

I think that is great!  I men, sure, you're going to have photographs of the wedding, but there you are expecting to be photographed.  Here - it's all unrehearsed and wonderful.

And I have done it, quite by accident.

In 2010, I was up in Venice Beach on a photo walk when I noticed this attractive couple on the pier.  The fellow, Domingo, saw my camera and let it be known to me, discreetly, that he was waiting for a plane to come by that would be pulling a banner with the question.  But the plane was late!

No matter - I waited.  And waited.  While the poor wannabe groom kept making excuses why they could not leave.

Where is that %$#&*! plane!

Finally . . . the magic happened.

No, let's stay a moment longer . . .

Oh, hey, what's that?

Can you read what that banner says?

"I love you!  Will you marry me, Paulina?"  The couple were Portuguese.

What a surprise for her!

But tradition must be held to . . .

. . . and a ring presented on bended knee.

She said yes!

Here's to the beginning of a beautiful life together!

So - are you getting ready to pop the question?  Why should celebrities be the only one with a paparazzo following them around?  Give me a call.  I stalk, I shoot, and I present you with beautiful images, fully retouched.
